Premier Service Explained - If you are serious about the guitar please do find the time to read this.

What Does Premier Service Cost?

When buying online premier service can be selected at the checkout stage of the order process. You will be asked which delivery option you require - simply select "Guitar Mail + Premier Service".

Standard guitar mail delivery charge : £10

Guitar Mail + Premier Service: £35

Therefore the actual cost of premier service when buying online is just £25.

You will find that our extremely competitive online prices more than makes up for this small premium which ensures you get the very best playing example in the Country with a backup service second to none.

If you have bought a guitar before you will know all too well that not every guitar feels or plays the same. You may also know that due to the nature of the major component of the guitar (wood) that they can feel great one moment and awful the next (say for example after travelling half way around the globe on a boat - from some factory in the far east!)

Our "creme de la creme" service offers the more discerning/knowledgeable buyer a host of "players benefits" which will ensure that ANY guitar purchased will give you years of enjoyment - regardless of the price paid.

These benefits include the premier service...

Quality Control - 10 to 20% of guitars that undergo the premier service quality control are REJECTED and returned to the supplier. What do you think happens to these guitars? It takes one member of staff 2-3 days per week to pack these rejected guitars up - send back to the supplier - and chase credit notes owed to us. What happens to these guitars? Who knows (well we do but we can't say).

Setup - Want the very best playing instrument?  The pictures to the left illustrate an acoustic guitar going through the "premier service setup" - no stone is left unturned to ensure your instrument plays beautifully every time.

Certificate - Every instrument is supplied with a certificate highlighting the key areas of adjustment, final string height settings and guage of string fitted.

After Sales support - Our premier service customers receive after sales service second to none. We throw away the "statutary rights handbook" and create our own rules based on our commitment to our premier customers. So if your guitar suffers a manufacturers fault in 2 or 3 years time. We are STILL around to help. Our competitors may call this commercial suicide - we call it good will.

A second guitar setup to premier service standard for just £25 - Got a guitar at home that you think could be improved? Drop it in and we will do over £55 worth of work for just £25

6 & 12 month checks and "re-sets". A *FREE follow up service for our premier service customers. We will ensure your guitar plays like the day it left our store (minus your own wear and tear of course!) saving you £££ on pricey guitar technicians bills. If we find any parts that are failing that are not due to normal wear and tear we will replace them free of charge!

We work hand in hand with our suppliers, reporting back with fault "trends" and ways to improve their products. Companys like Tanglewood, Aria, Crafter, Line 6, Maverick, vintage and others have been listening intently over the years and we know what value our input has brought to their brands.

If you take just one bit of advice from the pages I have written in my guides and advice here at Guitars.co.uk it would be that you to take the premier service! It is what our reputation is based on. If you are buying online I will bet that the money you are saving on the retail price is more than the premier service charge and it will ensure total peace of mind for you - and for me.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING PREMIER SERVICE

When we undertake a premier service on an instrument we do so on the basis that the guitar is now YOURS. Rarely (but it happens) a customer will cancel an order when/if we REJECT the guitar when it falls below our qualty control standards. Please note that 10-15% of guitars that are checked DO fail quality control - this is due to the nature of mass produced guitars - made to a cost in the far east. When you purchase an instrument with Premier Service you must do so with the understanding that it MAY be rejected and there MAY be a delay caused.

The full premier service charge will be applied - regardless of whether the instrument passes or fails our quality control. In normal circumstances we would then carry out a second (or third - whatever it takes) FREE of charge but will have to charge you for all work carried out IF you cancel the order following any setup.

I do hope this information helps you understand the premier service a little more - Richard

* Due to the need to check your intonation & adjust accordingly you must bring in your guitar with BRAND NEW strings fitted (original guage as setup when sold) OR pay our technician to remove your old strings and fit new ones - guide price £16 including strings. It is impossible to check intonation accurately with old strings.
